Having grown up on a farm in Shropshire, the rural way of life has always been part of Amanda’s everyday life. The seasons, the land, the animals, the work ethic and the realities of country living were not something she discovered — they were simply where she came from.

From an early age, Amanda loved being involved in rural life, even if many of the things she wanted to do were, at the time, still considered rather “unladylike”.

Amanda went on to build a successful career in farm, property and country estate management, giving her a deep understanding of rural business, land, homes and the practical realities of country living.

Since 2009, Amanda has been living in West Wales with her partner Arwyn and their brood of girls. In 2015, after a long period of enforced rest following the loss of her father to cancer, the birth of her second child and a life-changing medical diagnosis, she found herself seeing the countryside from a new perspective. The fields, hedgerows, light and changing seasons—things that had once simply been part of everyday life—suddenly felt more vivid, more valuable and more inspiring.

“I saw the countryside with renewed vigour. The sights, the smells and the light had all just been part of the lifestyle. It’s not until that lifestyle is taken away from you that you really appreciate what you have.”

With this refreshed vision, Amanda began to notice the colours, textures and patterns of rural life in a different way. What followed was a more creative path, combining her artistic instincts with her deep connection to the countryside and years of experience in rural enterprise.

Foxy Pheasant was born from that place—a love of country living, practical beauty and timeless design.

Today, Foxy Pheasant is entering a new chapter. The brand is evolving beyond its original product range and embracing a slower, more thoughtful way of creating.

This next chapter also pays quiet homage to Amanda’s mum and nan, who taught her so much about making, mending, crafting and upcycling long before it became fashionable. Those skills were simply part of everyday life: making the most of what you had, seeing the potential in beautiful old fabrics and giving things a second life.

Amanda is immensely proud of that heritage. It is a skill, a mindset and a way of living that she is now delighted to bring more fully into Foxy Pheasant and share with others.

Inspired by country living, country house interiors and vintage style, Amanda is developing collections of accessories and homeware using recycled materials, limited-edition fabrics and circular design principles.

The heart of the brand remains the same: rural authenticity, independent spirit and designs inspired by real country life. The direction, however, is evolving towards pieces that are more considered, more sustainable and made to be treasured for years to come.

Amanda remains rooted in rural life, living on her own farm in North Pembrokeshire with her family. Surrounded by the landscape that continues to inspire her, she combines her passion for country living, vintage style and country house interiors with a commitment to creating thoughtful, sustainable products that celebrate the beauty of rural life.
